I’ve done a couple of Wim Hof breathing, mindset, and cold bath sessions in Muscat with instructor Thomas Kleefeld. They improved my sleep, helped me focus, and made me feel rejuvenated.
Kleefeld also offers Immersive Multi-Dimensional (IMD) breathwork sessions around Muscat. He was generous enough to offer a free session on International Women’s Day with the theme “You are enough.”
This was my first time doing IMD, and I am glad I went. My body felt lighter as I released tension.
I’m going to include what to expect at a session and highlight some benefits of IMD.
Whether you live in Oman or you’re traveling here and looking for ways to manage stress, this is a wonderful program to try.
IMD Breathing
It’s not just about breathing; it’s about releasing trauma from the body. Kleefeld says, ‘It’s about healing and unblocking what’s been stuck for far too long.” He continues to say, ‘Immersive because you wear headphones and an eye mask to block distractions and multidimensional because every element works on multiple levels at once.’
What to Bring to IMD Breathwork
Kleefeld provides blankets and mats, but if you need extra cushioning for your back, bring a mat, small towel, or blanket. Bring water because if you’re like me, the breathing will make you thirsty afterward.
I suggest wearing loose-fitting clothing, such as sweatpants or leggings. If you get cold easily, bring a layer as your body temperature may fluctuate.
Pre-Session
Kleefeld will warmly greet everyone and introduce IMD breathwork. It’s a sequence of listening to binaural beats, affirmations, breathing, and, as a bonus, screaming. You’ll practice breathwork techniques before starting.
IMD Breathwork Session

After getting headphones and an eye mask, it’s time to lie down and get comfortable. I covered myself with a blanket.
Throughout the session, you’ll hear a guided sequence of breathing, binaural beats, music, and affirmations. Being able to scream twice is also a bonus, as it helps release stress and trauma.
Kleefeld monitors everyone and will tap you to remind you to keep breathing or to relax your body.
My Experience
My body tingled a few times, which is normal, and I remember I really belted out my screams. I started to get teary-eyed, which is also a sign of release.
Kleefeld tapped me a few times to ensure I continued breathing and to relax my body since my shoulders were tense.
When the journey finished, I felt rejuvenated and a little lighter, mentally and physically. I was a little out of it for a few minutes after opening my eyes.
The two hours were intense because of the continuous breathing sequence; however, it felt powerful screaming out stress and energy that no longer serves me.
Session Types
There is also an IMD-lite session for one hour which costs 15.40 OMR. The two hour sessions cost 25 OMR.
There are 12 different types of sessions, with themes such as ‘level up: Unblock the Limitless Mind’ and ‘Pieces to Power: Healing and Heartbreak.’
Kleefeld is free to talk afterward if you want to share anything you felt during the journey. He also recommends not checking your phone for a few hours.
Locations
I did my session at the British Osteopathy Centre, but other locations include Club Metropolitan inside Avenues Mall and FrostFit Wellness and Recovery in Athaiba.
