If you’re looking for a nice, relatively short hike with good sunrise and sea views, check out Sidab.
I’ve been a couple of times and have enjoyed the final stop at the beach. Here are a few tips when visiting.
The path of Sidab hike in Oman

The beginning of the path requires walking up a ladder and using a rope to climb the rocks. It looks more daunting from afar, but it is manageable. I held the rope and used my other hand to hold the large stones. This part takes less than five minutes.
On the way down, I used my bum and held on to the rocks.
After going over the rocks, follow the white, yellow, and red painted flags to continue. The path has some loose stones, while other areas are flat.

After about twenty minutes, a beach with clear turquoise water awaits.
Heading to another beach

For those wishing to carry on, walk toward the left on gravel for about five minutes until reaching some rocks to climb up. Once down, another beach awaits you.
Continue walking over rocks to the left, and you’ll reach the other side of the beach. Or go toward the right and take a few pictures of some of the large rock-like archways.
Taking a boat
A fishing boat is here for those who do not want to walk back. It costs 1 OMR and drops you off about a five-minute walk from the Sidab parking lot.
What to bring on the Sidab hike in Oman

Bring at least one liter of water, sunscreen, a hat, sunglasses, and snacks such as dates, protein bars, and nuts. I also recommend shoes with a good grip.
I’ve seen many groups bring food for a BBQ, and it is also possible to swim at the beach. Make sure not to leave any trash behind.
When to go
While I missed it twice, this is a lovely spot for sunrise, so I plan to go again. The second time I went, my group started at 8:00 am, and it was getting hot by 9:30 in early February.
It also gets crowded around 8:30 am, so I’d suggest starting between 5:30 and 6:00 in the morning.
Route time
The route is about an hour and a half total, depending on the pace and how long you choose to stay at both beaches.
